Namibia Self-Drive Tour 2023

This classic program allows you to discover the essentials of Namibia in simple and clean structures with excellent value for money. This trip, well balanced, is accessible to travelers on a budget.

Day 1 Windhoek / Okahandja

Arrival in Windhoek, no later than 12:00 – if arrival is later, a night in Windhoek must be booked the day before. Non-private English-speaking transfer to the city of Windhoek. Meet and greet at the rental company’s office and pick-up of your rental vehicle. Departure towards Okahandja. Possibility to visit the craft market of wood carvings. Check in at the camp located north of Okahandja

Day 2 Okahandja / Etosha

Breakfast

Departure to Etosha National Park. Depending on the time of arrival, departure with your vehicle for a first safari (entrance to be paid on site). Etosha National Park offers one of the most beautiful wildlife paintings in the world.

Day 3 Etosha National Park

Breakfast.

Full day safari in the park with your vehicle (entrance to be paid on site). It is also possible to book guided safaris with your lodge (extra charge).

Day 4 Etosha

Breakfast

Full day safari in the park with your rental vehicle (entrance to be paid on site).

Day 5 Etosha / Grootberg

Breakfast

Early departure to Damaraland. Along the way, it is possible to visit a Himba demonstration village open to the public (entrance to be paid on site). Installation at the lodge and free time to enjoy the splendid view of the valley from the terrace or to participate in an activity (*with supplement) offered by lodge.

Day 6 Grootberg / Twyfelfontein

Breakfast

Drive to Twyfelfontein. Check in at the lodge. In the afternoon, departfor a non-private 4×4 car tour with the lodge in search of desert elephants (not private, subject to weather conditions).

Day 7 Twyfelfontein / Swakopmund

Breakfast

Possibility to visit the site of Twyfelfontein, a real open-air museum (entrance to be paid on site). It is possible to observe the rock carvings dating from the time of the Bushmen who lived and hunted in this area. Possible stop at the organ pipes (entrance to be settled on site) and the burned mountain, which are in the vicinity.

Departure towards Uis, mining village, from where you can see the Brandberg, the highest peak in Namibia. You continue to Swakopmund and check in

Day 8 Swakopmund

Breakfast

Free day to visit the city or do activities with supplement.

Day 9 Swakopmund / Sesriem

Breakfast

Departure towards the canyon of the Kuiseb, an important river in Namibia since it stops the progression of the dunes to the north. Crossing the Namib-Naukluft reserve.

Day 10 Sesriem / Sossusvlei

Breakfast before dawn at Sossusvlei Lodge.

Departure at dawn with your vehicle to the site of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei (entrance to be paid on site). The last 5 kilometers to access these sites can only be done by 4×4 of the circuit, paid shuttle or on foot. The ascent of a dune will allow you to have a panoramic view of this spectacular site. Possibility to visit the canyon of Sesriem, 30 meters deep.

Day 11 Sesriem / Windhoek

Breakfast at Sossusvlei Lodge.

Drive to Windhoek. Return of the vehicle, then non-private and English-speaking transfer to the international airport for your flight (at the earliest around 17:00 – for an earlier departure, please add an extra night in Windhoek).

4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser Troop Carrier

A maximum of 6 passengers is ideal for optimal comfort. With 5 passengers, all participants have a place at the window. The two rows of rear seats allow access to the sunroof, and are well spaced to have enough legroom. A conversion to a 4-seater vehicle is also possible by removing the last row of seats.
